Barnfind: Austins surface in Mallee find

The term 'barnfind' has become the catchphrase for car collectors worldwide. And here is a true example of just that. While passing thru a remote hamlet out in the Victorian scrub, I chanced upon this lot behind a fence, complete with 'For Sale' sign.

IMG_20210330_185934016_HDR Stopped for a 'sticky beak' and two lads kicking a footy paused their punts and came over.

"Are ya interested in the land?" the younger one enquired.

"No mate, but tell me about the cars." I replied, "are they for sale with the land?"

After a bit of back and forth, I established that the cars were indeed for sale after being hauled out of a shed following the sad passing of the owner recently.

And there you see it. A Falcon XD, a Vauxhall Victor FB (61-64), a BMC Mk.1 1800 (landcrab) two Austin A55s aka Cambridge (57-58) and an A40 Devon c.1952. All for private sale.

The young boys' older brother is seeing to the sale and welcomes genuinely interested parties. He's also asked that I don't advertise his number but is okay if I screen interested persons first and then refer them.

The cars are located in rural Victoria in the Mildura region, so you'd need to make the trip to view them and bring a trailer if you buy.
